Stromsrums Spotlight

Imported from Sweden in 2023, Refsgaards Spot On DiCaprio brought with him a substantial international fan base. His ability to produce level headed, charismatic, and athletic colored foals makes him an excellent choice for the amateur or professional looking for their next mount. DiCaprio achieved lifetime stallion licensing in 2023. He underwent rigorous training and passed the European Stallion testing with exceptional scores, including a 10 for stamina, 10 for willingness, and 10 for temperament with a total score of 867,86.   He is a tall, large-framed stallion with plenty of bone and a strong shoulder, with a well-connected topline.

While DiCaprio is accomplished in the dressage and jumping ring, with his large stature at 17.1 Hands, his offspring can be successful in a variety of disciplines. With several seasons of outstanding progeny, DiCaprio's foals have been athletic, intelligent, and loudly colored.

DiCaprio hails from some incredible lineage. His sire, Sanders Bogart KNN 241, a 2008 16.2H stallion, was awarded "Best in Show" 2014, "Best Certified Stallion" 2014 and has proven to pass exceptional character and gaits to his offspring.  His dam, Taekkers Darling, is a well built Knabstrupper mare of very good type. She has produced several noteworthy Knabstruppers, but only one few spot stallion. Taekkers Darling boasts some impressive historical bloodlines back to Conetti Lynghoj.  Conetti was uniquely large for a Knabstrupper at 17.1 hands. Conetti was by the Oldenburg stallion, Aleksander.

DiCaprio has inherited all of the best qualities of his historic pedigree. He is dashing in the riding ring, with impeccable confirmation and uphill gaits, combining the presence and athletic ability of the Knabstruppers who built his family tree.

COLOR GENETICS:  Negative for WFFS and PSSM.

E/E (offspring cannot be sorrel/chestnut), LP/LP, PATN1/N, W20/N

W20 is a white booster that increases the amount of white on a horse when combined with other white spotting genes. Otto will always produce a colored foal regardless of the color mare he is bred to. He may be more likely to produce spotted blankets (due to the one PATN1....waiting for our foal crop to confirm). You will always get white patterning when bred to this amazing few spot stallion.

Five Filly Farm plans to offer Stromsrums Spotlight
at stud in the 2026 season and also pair him with some amazing approved outcross mares to bring these unique qualities to the Knabstrupper breed in the US and add a little color to the show ring.
